Still More Lack of Accountability & Transparency with the Conservatives.

Tories paid $25 billion in grants and subsidies over first year in office

Once friends of the Conservatives now enemies due to their unique ability of telling the truth, the Canadian Tax Payers Federation says:

The group says the 100 largest payments, doled out by 16 different departments and agencies, total $3.3 billion - much of it spent "questionably, inefficiently and, in some cases, outright irresponsibly."

And we have this:
Group calls for ethics probe of Harper over Mulroney-Schreiber affair

"When Canadians face allegations about themselves or their associates, they don't get to decide the limits of the investigation, control witnesses or choose their own judge, and neither should the prime minister, cabinet ministers or any other politician," said Conacher.

Make no wonder Dion is closing the gap Not good news when your cheerleaders at IPSO-Reid and CanWest turn their backs on you and spin for the liberals. Recommend this Post

Young Offender Legislation: Denunciation? WTF?

Deunciation is the act of public denouncement.

What are they thinking? And how do they intend to do it?

In true Conservative fashion, there are no details but the idea of this entire concept leaves me thinking of what's in this picture.

Just a note but this sort of behavior is banned in the US because it is cruel and unusual punishment which is banned by the UN Convention on Human Rights. Great job there conservatives. Canada's back alright, back to the medieval times.

When do I start paying indulgences again? Recommend this Post

Conservatives trying to extradite swindler from Bulgaria

Um. This is strange. One would think someone on death row would take precedence over someone who will be slightly uncomfortable and then get to go home.

I thought we weren't going to interfere with the legal systems of democracies such as Bulgaria?

Or do we only trust other democracies in so far as killing people only?

Does this make sense to anyone else out there? Recommend this Post

Are Conservatives poisoning Canadians?

Three environmental groups are seeking a judicial review of Environment Minister John Baird's actions. Apparently he may have been telling Mining companies to not disclose two types of pollution, mine tailings and waste rock. There is not really much more to mining pollution than these two types.

What is bad about mine tailings and waste rock? Well, here is it list of what tailings can contain depending on the minerals for extraction.

Arsenic
Barite
Calcite
Fluorite
Radioactive materials - Naturally present in many ores
Mercury
Sulfur - Forms many sulfide compounds / pyrites
Cadmium
Hydrocarbons - Introduced by mining and processing equipment (oils & greases)
Cyanide - as both Sodium Cyanide (NaCN) and Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN). Leaching agent.
SEX - Sodium Ethyl Xanthate. Floatation agent.
PAX - Potassium Amyl Xanthate. Floatation agent.
MIBC - Methyl Isobutyl Carbinol. Frothing agent.
Sulfamic acid - Cleaning / descaling agent.
Sulfuric acid - Used in large quantities in the PAL process (Pressure Acid Leaching).
Activated Carbon - Used in CIP (Carbon In Pulp) and CIL (Carbon In Leach) processes.
Calcium - Different compounds, introduced as lime to aid in pH control.

Some of you will notice that some of these chemicals are part of the conservatives supposed crackdown on pollutants. Obviously a lie as these chemicals are being piled up near communities. These chemicals leach into the ground/groundwater and always affect those living in the area and as well, wildlife.

This government lies and deceives at every opportunity while presenting a second face to the public. The public are not off the hook on this. This is your country, pay attention to whats going down. Recommend this Post
